Rotating Assemblies

What is a Rotating Assembly?

A rotating assembly is a combination of bottom end engine components comprised of the following:

  • Crankshaft
  • Conrods
  • Pistons
  • Piston Rings
  • Conrod Bearings
  • Main Bearings

The bottom end rotating assembly can be configured of either stock stroke (standard crankshaft size) or as a stroker kit (increased crankshaft size).
These both have very different purposes and will achieve different outcomes depending on what your end goal is.

What Is A Stroker Kit?

A Stroker Kit is a high-performance aftermarket rotating assembly which is designed to increase your standard engines displacement. 

Unlike a stock stroke engine, the overall crankshaft diameter of the stroker crank is larger than the standard. This results in increasing the length of the stroke of the piston to allow it to travel further up & down the cylinder powered by your high-performance crankshaft. This effect makes the piston move down further whilst maintaining its same maximum height as the factory engine.

For Example: 

LS Stock Crankshafts = 3.622" Inches
The Common LS Stroker Crankshaft = 4.00" Inches

In most applications this is combined with an oversize piston from standard such as below

LS1 Standard Bore Size = 3.898" Inches
LS1 Stroker Bore Size = 3.905" Inches 

By combining the two increases we achieve a gain from stock LS1 346 cubic inches to stroked ls1 383 cubic inches! 

What Is The Benefit Of A Stroker Engine?

Building an LS stroker engine is the ultimate way to maximise horsepower capabilities, But more importantly maximising torque.

There is no denying that forced induction has become an increasingly popular choice when deciding on ways to add more to your engine, however as the old saying goes - There is no replacement for displacement!

Forced induction, Heads & cam packages, nitrous kits - All of these alone lack one very important factor when wanting to make serious power, Torque! Without torque, the others simply can't compete.

The benefit of building a stroker engine is that you will be replacing the factory rotating assembly with a high performance stroker package to suit your desired stroker build. Your high performance stroker engine will include the highest quality, forged steel rotating assembly manufactured by the world's leading suppliers.
