The effects of Covid-19 & how it has impacted LSX Performance Parts from our day to day operations

As anyone with eyes & ears has seen and heard regarding the Covid-19 crisis, The entire world has been impacted by this global pandemic.

We thought it best to address some of the frustrations & identify the delays that have a ripple effect on logistics.

In Australia, Most states are seeing that the restrictions have eased & people are adjusting to the new normal way of life.

However, In Victoria, We are facing our second stage 3 lockdown & seeing daily cases of 400 + per day, With the increase of people being hospitalised & death rates increasing at an alarming number.

Victoria remains in a state of emergency & the Victorian government has deployed military & additional police to monitor strict rules of being outside of your home or essential workplace.

Victoria is currently & remains CLOSED to the rest of Australia.

In addition to this, LSX Performance Parts deal with popular & highly sought after performance products from all parts of USA. This brings additional problems as USA are far worse off than we are here in Australia in terms of the effects that this pandemic has had on American's & their way of life.


What are the delays & WHY?


Stock Levels:

Since the initial panic of the Covid-19, Stock has been an issues with performance parts around the world.

Some of our manufacturers have had to close their doors for 2 + weeks (longer in some cases), Let staff go, Work around employee social distancing, Scramble to keep up with panic buying orders, Riots, Strikes & deal with the value of the dollar dropping due to the crisis.

This is not only for our industry - Take some of the simple basic household items for example: Pasta, Sauce, Toilet paper, Rice, Sugar, Flour & so on. This has taken its toll on stock availability at one point or another to almost every sector.


Manufacturing Products:


Most manufacturers have slowed down the production on some of their products such as lifters, valve spring components (required in spring kits) camshafts, manifolds, rotating assemblies & more..

The reason for this - There is no certainty on when things will get back to normal, So manufacturers are now making products to order rather than having their funds tied up on stocked items.

This means that unless certain products are paid for, The manufacturer will not keep stock & will only manufacture once an order is placed.

This is more than reasonable given the number of unemployed people who have quickly needed to turn their focus on their families rather than car parts - It is a no brainer, However many businesses, Including ours have had cancellations & refunds processed that customers could not fulfil, Leaving us with products that are not selling as usual.


Logistics:

Part of our policy is to provide FREE freight for our customers.

We use some of the biggest names in transport & depending on the courier that quotes the quickest turn around times for our customers, That is who we will often book through.

Please understand - We DO NOT have anything to do with the time it takes for a courier to deliver your order.

Once it has been processed & collected, It is handle by that 3rd party courier.

We DO NOT offer express freight as this is something that we can not guarantee, Therefore it is not available even as an additional cost.

During these times, We have experienced significant delays in transit times ranging from local to international logistics.

As mentioned above, The pandemic has had a serious impact on several sectors of business, None more so than air lines.

The fact that borders have been closed, Increased strict policies with customs & delays within courier companies have seen delays beyond what we would like to see.

Many air freight companies such as TNT, DHL, UPS & FedEx have removed their express/economy service that would normally bring an order from USA to Melbourne in 4 days!

Although our call volume has been extremely high during this time, We always do our best to return your calls & assist with your enquiries.

Product Expectations

All IN STOCK products purchased BEFORE 2:00 pm can usually be shipped within 24 hours & with Free Shipping! 

All NON STOCKED local items will be sent out as soon as the product arrives from us from either one of our local suppliers OR drop shipped directly from our supplier.

We will usually be able to source & package up your order within 3 business days as long as we have been able to confirm an ETA of the non stocked product being available to us or our supplier. ** PLEASE NOTE - This does NOT mean 3 business days from the date you purchase!!! **

All INTERNATIONAL ORDERS - BTR, TSP, PAC Racing, CHE etc.. These products are ALL highly sought after & may or may not be in stock at the time of order.

We suggest you contact us prior & confirm. If it is in stock, We can get this out to you within 24 hours.

If there is no stock & we need to order it in for you, Please allow 10 - 14 business days as this will be subject to air freight. In some cases (more than usual - We can receive this sooner)

Customs can take up to 72 hours to clear orders once it has arrived in the country.

All NON STOCKED INTERNATIONAL ORDERS THAT REQUIRE MANUFACTURING - CERTAIN CAMSHAFTS, MANIFOLDS, CUSTOM ORDERED PARTS, NON SHELF ITEMS - We will let you know if the product you are wanting to purchase is not something that is on the shelf & requires it to be made for you.

While we can often make these happen fairly quickly, There will still need to be an understanding that manufacturers are slowing the production on shelf items & only manufacturing to order.

In addition to this, Please take into account the time difference, Often when an order is placed for an American product, One of our team members will wait until business hours in USA (Anywhere from 2:00am in the morning onwards local time) to call & discuss your new order.

We are working hard to fulfill your order while most of you are tucked up in bed!

How do I find out if my order is shipped?

We will email you!
Once your order has been packaged and shipped the system will be updated to reflect "Shipped". Once this is done you will also receive an email "Order Status Updated". You will also receive a following email with Tracking.
Note: Tracking numbers on drop shipped items may take up to 24 hours.

I am looking to build an engine - How long will it take?

Due to the large volume of engine builds we produce, a lot of people are unaware that we have a small but extremely efficient engine team. 

During these times, Our machine shops have been busier than ever, combined with shortages on certain vital stock items there have been some delays. 

We are working through these and are almost back up to date.
Our machinists & CNC porters are some of the best in the country, so we would be shocked if they weren't busy! 

Prior to purchase we recommend contacting us to finalize all build specs, application & most importantly ETA.
All engines are built to order! 

In most cases, We will not require payment until the engine is complete - This is another way we assist with not having you tie up your cash while waiting on your new engine to be built.
